Por otro lado, Netanyahu ha aceptado “con mucho gusto” la invitación del príncipe heredero de Baréin, Salman bin Hamad al Jalifa, de visitar el reino del Golfo. Representa un paso más en su rápida normalización de lazos.
Según informó la oficina del jefe del Gobierno israelí, los dos mandatarios hablaron telefónicamente el pasado lunes por la noche. La conversación se centró “en el fortalecimiento de las relaciones bilaterales” entre Israel y Bahréin, que en septiembre establecieron lazos con los Pactos de Abraham, firmados en Washington con mediación de Estados Unidos.
“Ambos estamos emocionados por el hecho de poder traer la paz a nuestros pueblos y a nuestros países en un periodo muy corto”. Así afirmó Netanyahu, quien destacó que la conversación, la segunda que mantienen, fue “muy amistosa”. El primer ministro se comprometió a aceptar la invitación para visitar Bahréin “con mucho gusto”.
