Si uno busca «Holoengaño» en Facebook, un término popular entre los negadores del Holocausto, uno de los primeros resultados es una publicación en la que se denunciaba a «Niño supremacista judío blanco sionista asesinando al Estado del apartheid, promotores del engaño satánico talmúdico».
Justo debajo había un video, publicado por un grupo con más de 6.000 seguidores, titulado «Investigación: Holoengaño y orden mundial judío».
Cuando Facebook hizo el anuncio, la compañía se comprometió a dirigir a los usuarios a recursos que brinden información creíble sobre el Holocausto. Esos recursos, por el momento, no aparecieron en el sitio.
En contraste, aparecen recursos similares en las búsquedas de la teoría de la conspiración de QAnon. La empresa dijo que prohibiría todo lo relacionado a esa teoría una semana antes de anunciar la prohibición de la negación del Holocausto. Y los grupos de QAnon parecen que se eliminaron después de ese anuncio.
No es solo «Holoengaño». Una página del Institute for Historical Review, una organización que niega el Holocausto y se hace pasar por un centro académico, está activa y contaba con más de 1.000 Me Gusta hasta el miércoles por la tarde. Una publicación reciente en la página enlaza con un artículo titulado «El poder de Israel es ilimitado». De hecho, un posteo de este mes lamenta la «gran pérdida de vidas y el terrible sufrimiento del pueblo alemán durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial».
Un recuadro al costado de esa página con la etiqueta «Páginas relacionadas» dirige a los usuarios a varias páginas que niegan el Holocausto.
Uno, con 531 me gusta, se llama «Goy Lives Matter» y presenta una serie de publicaciones y enlaces descaradamente antisemitas. Un ejemplo es un enlace a un sitio web que pretende brindar información sobre «La limpieza étnica judía de los europeos». “Goy”, un término hebreo que significa no judío, fue apropiado por los supremacistas blancos.
Otra página mucho más popular, con más de 11.000 me gusta, se llama «Fronteras abiertas para Israel», hoy un eslogan entre supremacistas blancos.
Las páginas y publicaciones muestran que, tras comprometerse a eliminar contenido sobre la negación el Holocausto, Facebook aún no lo hizo.
Los portavoces de Facebook, así como una organización judía que trabaja con él en estos temas, dicen que el gigante de las redes sociales está trabajando arduamente para implementar la política. Pero advierten que llevará más tiempo refinar las herramientas de inteligencia artificial y crear materiales de capacitación para moderadores humanos que puedan ayudar a reconocer la negación.
“Detectar el discurso de odio no solo es un desafío difícil, es uno en evolución”, escribió el portavoz. “Un nuevo discurso de odio puede no parecerse a los ejemplos anteriores porque hace referencia a una nueva tendencia o alguna nueva noticia».
“Negar el Holocausto no es simplemente equivocarse en los hechos”, dijo Monika Bickert, jefa de gestión de políticas globales de Facebook. «Sabemos que la negación del Holocausto se utiliza como una forma de atacar y avivar el odio contra el pueblo judío».
