Los medios oficiales palestinos alabaron a un terrorista conocido por orquestar el secuestro y asesinato de 11 atletas israelíes en la conocida masacre de Múnich.
Con motivo del aniversario de su asesinato por parte del Mossad, el diario oficial de la Autoridad Palestina llamó a Ali Hassan Salameh «un comandante hábil». Una página de Fatah, por su parte, lo calificó como «excepcional» y un «faro en el camino hacia la liberación».
Salameh, jefe de seguridad del movimiento Fatah de la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina (OLP) en la década de 1970, fue el autor intelectual de la masacre de Múnich 1972 en nombre del grupo terrorista Septiembre Negro de la OLP.
Por su parte, la OLP estaba comprometida con la lucha armada contra los soldados y civiles israelíes dondequiera que estuvieran. Llevaba a cabo regularmente ataques terroristas contra israelíes, tanto en Israel como en el extranjero.
En la masacre de Múnich, los terroristas palestinos inicialmente mataron a dos atletas israelíes y secuestraron a otros nueve. A cambio, exigieron la liberación de cientos de prisioneros palestinos y de dos prominentes militantes de izquierda de Alemania Occidental.

Fatah y los medios oficiales palestinos continúan elogiando a Salameh cada año en el aniversario de su asesinato (22/1/79) por el Mossad,.
El periódico oficial de la Autoridad Palestina Al-Hayat Al-Jadida llamó a Salameh, también conocido como Príncipe Rojo, un «mártir» y un «comandante hábil».
“Ali Hassan Salameh se caracterizó por su brazo largo, que se extendía por toda Europa. Y por una gran inteligencia que le permitió cazar agentes del Mossad”, dijo entusiasmado un narrador en un video en una página de Fatah. «Después de que fuera designado para comandar las operaciones especiales contra el servicio de inteligencia israelí en el mundo, su nombre se relacionó con muchas operaciones de calidad, como enviar paquetes explosivos a muchos agentes del Mossad en Europa».
Los «paquetes de explosivos» parecen ser una referencia a docenas de cartas bomba enviadas a diplomáticos israelíes en el extranjero. Aunque la mayoría se desactivó de forma segura, una mató a Ami Schechori, agregado de la Embajada de Israel en el Reino Unido.

A su vez, el video concluye diciendo «Ali Hassan Salameh. La memoria palestina se niega a olvidar a este hombre excepcional. Un hombre que inmortalizó su nombre en la historia de la revolución palestina y su sofisticada guerra de inteligencia contra el Mossad».
Los funcionarios de Fatah también elogian a otros miembros de la célula de Septiembre Negro que llevaron a cabo el ataque de Múnich.
El miembro del Comité Central de Fatah y exj efe de seguridad de Cisjordania, Tawfiq Tirawi, dijo que otros tres «líderes» de Septiembre Negro «redimieron a Palestina con sus almas».
Además del ataque de Múnich, Septiembre Negro también apuntó a diplomáticos israelíes y empresarios en el extranjero. Mató a un primer ministro jordano y bombardeó una sinagoga holandesa en la década de 1980, asesinando a tres personas.
Finalmente, Salameh fue asesinado, supuestamente por agentes del Mossad, en Beirut en 1979.
