Bajo el lema “Todo cambia, la memoria sigue intacta”, el martes 16 de marzo tuvo lugar el tradicional Acto de Juventud que convocó a cientos de jóvenes comprometidos con el pedido de justicia y con la necesidad de mantener vivo el recuerdo de las 29 víctimas fatales del atentado terrorista a la Embajada de Israel en la Argentina.
Por el canal de YouTube de AMIA, la conmemoración, que fue organizada por La Juventud, fue seguida, en vivo, por más de 1.200 personas, y horas después de haberse compartido, el video ya contaba con más de 1.800 reproducciones.
A las 19, el acto comenzó con el mensaje de la embajadora de Israel en Argentina Galit Ronen. «Me parece sumamente importante que los jóvenes, que quizás no habían nacido cuando fue el atentado, puedan saber de este hecho, lo recuerdan y lo toman en su corazón”, expresó la representante diplomática.

Luego, fue el turno de Malena Cohen, hija de Jorge, unas de las víctimas sobrevivientes. «Como muchos de ustedes, yo nací varios años después. Pero cuando hablo del atentado a la Embajada, es como si lo hubiera vivido. Como si hubiera conocido en persona a los compañeros de mi papá que murieron en el ataque», compartió.
La recordación, en la que se encendió una vela en memoria de cada una de las personas que perdieron la vida, también contó con la lectura del discurso elaborado por La Juventud. «Hoy estamos nuevamente honrando nuestro legado. No es casualidad que cuando atacaron la Embajada de Israel, los jóvenes fueron a ponerse en primera fila para auxiliar y asistir. La juventud en ese entonces, tuvo esa tarea, una tarea titánica, una tarea que cumplieron y que legaron. [… ] A nosotros nos toca una tarea distinta, pero no menos importante, nos toca hablar de lo que pasó. Nos toca sostener con nuestra práctica la persistencia de la memoria”, relataron.
En el acto también hubo un lugar destacado para presentar la acción que involucró a jóvenes de distintas provincias del país. En la que intervinieron el número veintinueve con palabras como “memoria”, “dolor”, “justicia”, entre otras. El cierre estuvo a cargo de Melanie Faez, quien preparó un poema titulado «Recordar».
