Una familia judía ortodoxa fue atacada en Nueva York por un hombre con un cuchillo, en lo que se consideró un claro hecho de antisemitismo.
Al agresor, identificado como Darryl Jones, lo detuvieron con cargos de asalto, por agredir a un niño menor de siete años y posesión de un arma. En febrero lo pusieron en libertad tras declararse culpable de un robo y asalto ocurrido en agosto de 2011.
Específicamente, el hombre se cruzó con la pareja y su bebé en las calles de Manhattan. Los pasó por al lado e instantes después se dio vuelta y los atacó con un cuchillo.
El padre de la familia sufrió una herida en la cabeza y la mujer un corte en el labio. El sospechoso también atacó a la hija. Tras los sucesos huyeron, pero el atacante los siguió.
