El libro de texto del Departamento de Educación y Capacitación de Victoria (DET), que se encuentra en las listas de libros de muchas escuelas del estado, afirma que “debido a que lo vieron como una amenaza para su poder, los líderes religiosos judíos hicieron que Jesús arrestara, condenara y crucificara a los romanos».
Los padres de los estudiantes de la escuela Glen Eira College manifestaron su repudio ante la Comisión Antidifamación (ADC).
Frances Prince, del Consejo de la Comunidad Judía de Victoria (JCCV), dijo: “Es extremadamente decepcionante que una acusación tan difamatoria se abriera paso en un libro de texto escolar. No tengo ninguna duda de que el departamento de educación se ocupará del asunto de manera rápida y adecuada».

Un miembro del DET expresó que el libro no está respaldado por ellos. También comentó que se pondrán en contacto con el editor para que se cambien de inmediato las partes ofensivas del libro.
