Un grupo de organizaciones palestinas llamaron a la intifada a través de las redes sociales, tras el alto el fuego entre Israel y Hamás.
Un escritor, Bassem Barhoum, afirmó en el diario oficial de la Autoridad Palestina (AP) que “el alto el fuego no significa el fin de la batalla. El objetivo que tiene consenso entre el pueblo palestino hoy es acabar con la ocupación y derrotar al régimen de apartheid de Israel. Además de esto, debemos continuar la intifada popular integral y la actividad de solidaridad y boicot en el ámbito internacional”.
En las redes sociales, Fatah publicó una imagen en su página de Facebook en la que se ve a un manifestante lanzando piedras con la Cúpula de la Roca como telón de fondo, con la leyenda “la intifada continúa”.
Además, el movimiento Fatah también llamó a los palestinos a movilizarse para “defender Jerusalén” y enfrentarse a la marcha de la bandera.

Asimismo, en el canal de televisión de la AP, el teniente de alcalde de Surif (en el distrito de Hebrón), Hazem Ghneimat, hizo comentarios sobre Yasser Arafat. “Nos manifestamos por las almas de nuestros mártires eternos. Y sobre todo por el comandante símbolo de los mártires, Yasser Arafat, quien inició la revolución palestina. El hombre de las hermosas palabras que todos repetimos juntos: ‘Millones de mártires marchan hacia Jerusalén’”.
Otras facciones palestinas también hicieron referencia a una intifada en las redes. Al parecer, el Frente Popular para la Liberación de Palestina (FPLP) emitió una declaración en la que pedía “un día de intensificación de la actividad de la intifada y la confrontación abierta contra la ocupación en las zonas de fricción, los puestos de control militar y los asentamientos”, según la agencia de noticias palestina Al-Dunia Al-Watan.
