Una congregación judía en Los Ángeles quedó en estado de shock luego de que un hombre intentara atropellar a una multitud mientras celebraba Sucot.
Según Magen Am, una organización sin fines de lucro que brinda seguridad a las instituciones judías, el atacante aceleró por un callejón de un solo sentido hacia una multitud de mujeres y niños, a minutos de que el concierto en la sinagoga Shaarei Tefila finalizara.
Las 20/30 personas lograra saltar fuera del camino del vehículo con lo justo. Luego, el agresor se detuvo en seco frente a una puerta de metal, gritó «a la mierda los judíos» y se fue.
Magen Am también comentó que unos 20 minutos antes, el hombre había «sondeado» el evento y realizó amenazas. «Soy un verdadero musulmán, les mostraré cómo es el terrorismo real», dijo.

La Policía de Los Ángeles llegó a la escena tras una llamada de posible crimen de odio y completaron un informe por amenazas criminales.
Por su parte, un oficial de seguridad de Magen Am le expresó a Algemeiner que el presunto agresor se acercó primero a la sinagoga preguntando sobre el evento. Poco después comenzó a hacer insultos y amenazas antisemitas. Después de entablar una discusión con otro miembro de la congregación que reaccionó a los comentarios, el agresor amenazó al oficial de seguridad de Magen Am.
Luego lo expulsaron del lugar. Y ahí fue cuando, unos 20 minutos después, regresó e intentó atropellar al grupo de asistentes del concierto de Sucot.
El evento anual en la congregación Shaarei Tefila, una sinagoga ortodoxa moderna en la comunidad judía de Los Ángeles, tuvo entre 400 y 500 personas.
