Un importante árbitro de fútbol polaco causó indignación tras realizar comentarios antisemitas sobre los judíos.
Se trata de Lukasz Araszkiewicz, quien dijo que una campaña para combatir el antisemitismo en los estadios de fútbol europeos era “otra absoluta patraña urdida por centros y medios judíos. Uno sabe muy bien con qué propósito”.
Araszkiewicz, que dirigió para la FIFA durante 17 años, hizo el comentario en un mail en respuesta a una invitación de la Asociación Nunca Más para participar en un debate online sobre cómo combatir el antisemitismo que tiene lugar en los estadios de fútbol.
“Como árbitro con 17 años de experiencia en varios niveles, nunca fui testigo de un comportamiento antisemita; [pero] racismo, todo lo contrario”, expresó.
Además, el el árbitro polaco agregó: “Esto no es más que otra absoluta patraña que hacen los centros y medios judíos. Uno sabe muy bien con qué propósito”.

“Por favor, no me envíen más este tipo de invitaciones porque no estoy de acuerdo en absoluto. Los judíos no son un pueblo elegido a pesar de esa eterna arrogancia suya. Y presentar a los polacos como antisemitas y hablar de los campos de concentración polacos es lo más despreciable de los f****** judíos desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial”, concluyó.
La Asociación Nunca Más es el grupo que está detrás del programa “Echemos el racismo de los estadios”.
El correo electrónico indignó a la Asociación, que pidió al presidente de la FIFA, Gianni Infantino, que adopte una “posición de principios sobre este asunto”.
“La xenofobia y el antisemitismo son temas difíciles para el fútbol polaco e internacional, por lo que no esperábamos solo elogios para nuestra iniciativa. Sin embargo, una de las respuestas al evento fue claramente más allá de lo que se llama diferencia de opinión o crítica aceptable. Desgraciadamente, las palabras del Sr. Araszkiewicz demuestran que el uso de estereotipos negativos sobre los judíos es un fenómeno que sigue presente también en el mundo del fútbol”, afirmó la carta a Infantino de la Asociación Nunca Más y los representantes del Comité Judío Americano – Europa Central.
Por su parte, la carta instó a Infantino a tomar medidas y también citó el código de conducta de la FIFA sobe racismo y discriminación.
