Marjorie Fiterman, de 102 años, y Bernie Littman, de 100 años, contrajeron matrimonio el domingo en la residencia para personas mayores donde se conocieron hace casi una década. Su unión podría establecer un nuevo récord mundial Guinness como la pareja de mayor edad al casarse, informó People.

La familia del hombre expresó su sorpresa cuando él mostró su deseo de casarse nuevamente. “Asumimos que vivirían el resto de sus días tal y como estaban,” explicó Sarah Sicherman, nieta de Littman, a Fox News Digital.

Además de celebrar su amor, la pareja también podría establecer un récord mundial. Sicherman indicó que han presentado una solicitud para ser reconocidos oficialmente por el Guinness World Records como la pareja con la mayor edad combinada en casarse, superando por unos ocho años el récord actual.

La peculiaridad de la vida de la pareja incluyó una anécdota adicional: aunque se conocieron oficialmente en la residencia, ambos asistieron a la Universidad de Pensilvania en la misma época, aunque en diferentes departamentos, por lo que nunca coincidieron en aquella época.
