El Comité Ejecutivo de la organización mantuvo su reunión bianual en la capital checa, donde sus líderes discutieron acerca de los problemas que enfrentan las comunidades judías en todo el mundo. El presidente del Congreso Judío Latinoamericano, Adrián Werthein, presentó un informe sobre la situación de las comunidades en Latinoamérica y las últimas acciones llevadas a cabo por la organización regional.
«El encuentro sirvió para compartir la realidad de las comunidades en cada región y de esa forma tener un panorama general de los desafíos más urgentes de las comunidades judías a nivel global», expresó Adrián Werthein, Presidente del Congreso Judío Latinoamericano.
Werthein comentó además que «respecto a Latinoamérica, algunos de los principales temas tratados fueron los traslados de las embajadas de Guatemala y Paraguay a Jerusalem y su impacto en la región, la situación de la Comunidad Judía en Chile después de algunos focos de conflicto con la comunidad palestina, la lucha contra la discriminación en la web y el modelo de convivencia latinoamericano», entre otros temas.
El primer ministro checo, Andrej Babiš, dijo a los miembros del Comité Ejecutivo en un discurso en la cena inaugural de la reunión, que estaba muy orgulloso de que las comunidades judías checas «son una vez más fuertes y vitales para poder organizar un evento global tan importante … Praga siempre ha sido una ciudad no solo de checos y alemanes, sino también de judíos que vivieron aquí durante siglos».
