El Ministerio de Derechos Humanos de Irak denunció que uno de los líderes del Estado Islámico (ISIS, en inglés), conocido como Abu Anas al Libi, ordenó matar a más de 150 mujeres y niñas por negarse a casarse con combatientes de ese grupo extremista.
La masacre de las mujeres, incluidas embarazadas y menores de edad, ocurrió en la ciudad iraquí de Faluya, en la provincia de Al Anbar, a unos 55 kilómetros al oeste de Bagdad, indicó el ministerio, citado por la cadena árabe Al Arabiya.
«Al menos 150 mujeres, incluidas las mujeres embarazadas, fueron ejecutadas en Faluya después de que se negaran a aceptar el matrimonio», dice el comunicado del ministerio.
«Muchas familias también se vieron obligadas a emigrar de la ciudad del norte de la provincia de Al Wafa después de que cientos de residentes recibieran amenazas de muerte», agregó.
Según el ministerio, las mujeres asesinadas fueron enterradas en fosas comunes y todos los que trataron de impedir sus muertes fueron capturados por los yihadistas y encerrados en una de las mezquitas de Faluya, la cual convirtieron en prisión.
El masivo asesinato de mujeres se conoce dos días después de que ISIS publicara fotografías de la ejecución de 13 combatientes sunitas, considerados enemigos de los yihadistas, en la ciudad de Tikrit, en el norte del país.
Las imágenes publicadas en foros de los terroristas y sus redes sociales exhiben a los prisioneros vestidos con mamelucos color naranja, como ya se ha visto en otras oportunidades en las que ISIS propaga este tipo de contenidos sangrientos.
Una de las fotos muestra a 11 personas arrodilladas, con sus cabezas bajas, cada uno con un hombre enmascarado y vestido de negro detrás. Hay banderas de ISIS en el fondo de la imagen.
En la siguiente fotografía están los verdugos blandiendo sus armas, y los prisioneros, ya ejecutados. Existe una tercera imagen de transeúntes que merodean el lugar -niños incluidos- observando los cadáveres, que han sido arrastrados desde la isla central de la rotonda hacia la ruta.
Las fuentes del lugar indican que este cruce de caminos une Tikrit, Kirkuk y Al Alam. Según testigos, los hombres ejecutados pertenecían a los Caballeros de Al Alam, un grupo anti ISIS que fue capturado hace unos diez días.
Tikrit ha estado bajo control yihadista desde la ofensiva de junio y es uno de los principales objetivos del Ejército iraquí y sus tribus aliadas en la contraofensiva que vienen llevando adelante con apoyo de los bombardeos de la coalición internacional en los últimos 60 días.
El mayor éxito ha sido la recuperación de Baiji y su destilería de petróleo, la más grande del país, mientras que el gran objetivo es llegar a Mosul, reducto de ISIS en el extremo norte. La escala previa es Tikrit.
