En el periodismo gráfico hay dos hechos claves que marcan una nota más allá del contenido: el título y la foto.
Siempre fue así, pero en tiempos de redes sociales se acrecentó la tendencia a mostrar una imagen/video y contar todo en menos de 140 caracteres.
A partir de eso, el contenido pasó a ser secundario.
Un título y una foto alcanzan para «bajar línea».
Hace 25 años, el 13 de septiembre de 1993, en Washington, ante las presencias del líder de la OLP Yasser Arafat, el primer ministro israelí Yitzhak Rabin y el presidente estadounidense Bill Clinton, se oficializó la Declaración de Principios sobre las Disposiciones relacionadas con un Gobierno Autónomo Provisional más conocidos como los «Acuerdos de Oslo», porque las negociaciones se llevaron a cabo en la capital noruega.
Esto es lo que hoy 13 de septiembre de 2018 publicó el diario Clarín: «Se cumplen 25 años de los Acuerdos de Oslo entre israelíes y palestinos: aquel camino a la paz que pudo haber sido. Protagonistas explican razones del fracaso».
Debajo de este titulo aparece la foto de Arafat tendiendole la mano a Rabin y éste mirando hacia otro lado mientras Clinton espera que lo salude. El lector desprevenido entiende el mensaje subliminal, cómo lo indica la imagen, que una parte quería acordar, la otra no y por eso «las razones del fracaso».
En el desarrollo del texto sí están las aclaraciones, pero eso en esta época ya es secundario. La bajada de línea, la tendencia, ya estaba en marcha.
Uno quería, el otro no.
Basta con mirar la foto.
