Hamás celebra decisión de la CPI de investigar «los crímenes de la ocupación»

Hamás aplaudió la decisión de la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI) de investigar los “crímenes de la ocupación”. A su vez, defendió sus acciones como “resistencia legítima”.

La Autoridad Palestina (AP) también celebró la resolución de la CPI de abrir una investigación formal sobre los crímenes de guerra en los Territorios Palestinos.

“Este es un paso largamente esperado que sirve a la incansable búsqueda de justicia y rendición de cuentas de Palestina, que son pilares indispensables de la paz que el pueblo palestino busca y merece”, dijo el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de la AP en un comunicado.

Se espera que la investigación completa de crímenes de guerra contra Israel abarque la guerra de Gaza de 2014, la crisis fronteriza de Gaza de 2018, la empresa de asentamientos israelíes en Cisjordania y los ataques con cohetes de Hamás contra civiles israelíes.

Hazem Qassem, portavoz de Hamás en Gaza, dijo: “Celebramos la decisión de la CPI de investigar los crímenes de la ocupación israelí contra nuestro pueblo. Es un paso adelante en el camino de conseguir justicia para las víctimas de nuestro pueblo”.

“Nuestra resistencia es legítima y viene a defender a nuestro pueblo. Todas las leyes internacionales aprueban la resistencia legítima”, manifestó Qassem.

Israel, Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea consideran a Hamás una organización terrorista.

El diputado de la Lista Árabe Conjunta del parlamento israelí, Sami Abou Shahadeh, declaró en Twitter que “la valiente decisión de la CPI es otro paso en la dirección correcta. Está claro por qué Israel está preocupado: sabe que la ocupación no es más que un crimen de guerra”.
