Un emotivo momento se vivió el pasado viernes durante el funeral del rabino israelí Yehudá Leib Rubin, quien falleció a los 27 años durante la estampida mortal en el monte Merón en la madrugada de ese día.
Yehudá dejó una esposa y 3 hijos, de los cuales el menor, Yonatan, de apenas 4 años, recitó el Kadish durante su funeral. En comentarios este domingo al Canal 12 israelí, el cuñado de Leib Rubin, Abrami Deutsch, dijo: “Yehudá era el décimo y el más joven de sus hermanos, ni siquiera sé cómo llamarlo: niño, joven, padre, Avrej.

“Durante el funeral estuve con Yonatan, de 4 años, y le pregunté si quería despedirse de su papá, pero me dijo: ‘No me quiero despedir de mi papá, porque él nos prepara chocolate en la mañana’. Eso es exactamente lo que hacía Yehudá. Preparaba chocolate para los niños, preparaba comida para Shabat, limpiaba la casa y ayudaba a Nejami con todo. Crio a sus hijos con el entendimiento de que todos colaboraran”.

Por su parte, Nejami Rubin comentó al portal Ynet: “Recuerdo el momento en que entraron a mi casa para decirme que Yehudá se había ido y yo realmente no lo digerí”.
“Yehudá fue siempre un hombre fuerte, físicamente. No era una persona a la que alguien lo empujara y no se pudiera sostener. Se había ido solo a bailar con la alegría de Lag Ba’omer. […] Alguien que lo vio unos minutos antes de la tragedia me dijo que bailaba con él y que estaba feliz y emocionado”, recordó.
La lamentable noticia llegó de boca de su madre y personal que había acudido a informarle sobre la muerte de Yehudá.
Durante el funeral, Nejami contó que uno de sus pequeños hijos le preguntó: “¿Por qué papá no se mueve? Lo vi dentro del Talit, ¿pero por qué no se mueve?”. Ella, según dijo, se limitó a contestar con dificultad: “Papá tendrá otro cuerpo y estará en la tumba”.
“Esperaba un momento de quiebre en mi vida, pero no pensé que llegaría de esta manera”, lamentó. “Yehudá amaba la paz y amaba a todos. Decía que todos debían de ser respetados […] Teníamos planes y sueños a futuro y queríamos conformar una gran familia con más niños”.
Según Ynet, miembros de la familia Rubin dijeron que la pareja acumuló considerables deudas, por lo que comenzaron a recolectar donaciones para poder respaldar en ello a la familia.
