Para expresar su apoyo al Estado de Israel, al derecho a vivir en paz, por la libertad y contra el terrorismo, AMIA adhirió ayer al acto impulsado por la Organización Sionista Argentina. Se realizó de manera virtual, y que convocó a centenares de personas que se unieron para hacer llegar su solidaridad con los ciudadanos israelíes. También condenar enérgicamente los feroces ataques perpetrados por el grupo terrorista Hamas.
“Israel está siendo atacado. Ante el horror que se está viviendo, la comunidad judía argentina pudo manifestar, de manera unida y compartiendo el dolor y la angustia que nos atraviesa. Su apoyo a un país que constituye el único sistema democrático de Medio Oriente”, aseveró Ariel Eichbaum, presidente de AMIA. “En el acto condenamos, sin eufemismos, al grupo terrorista Hamás. Como tal, es sinónimo de la destrucción. Además del atropello más brutal a los derechos humanos y a todo respecto por la vida”, agregó.

Bajo el nombre “Israel bajo fuego”, el encuentro contó –entre otros– con los mensajes de la embajadora de Israel en la Argentina, Galit Ronen. También del presidente de la Organización Sionista Argentina, Sergio Pikholtz. El Gran Rabino, Gabriel Davidovich pronunció una bendición para el Estado de Israel y sus habitantes.
El acto adhirió también la DAIA. Fue transmitido en vivo a través de YouTube y tuvo, entre sus momentos más impactantes, la interrupción de la exposición que estaba realizando, desde Israel, la periodista Jana Beris, quien debió salir de su casa, ante la irrupción del sonido de las sirenas, y acudir a resguardarse en uno de los refugios asignados.
“Desde AMIA expresamos nuestro más firme repudio a la escalada de violencia desatada por Hamás. Como víctimas directas hace casi 27 años de un atentado organizado y ejecutado por el terrorismo internacional, sabemos de las consecuencias de los actos de esta naturaleza. Frente al terrorismo, la condena debe ser unánime y absoluta. En este sentido, rechazamos cualquier expresión que ponga en igualdad de condiciones a un país democrático, con un movimiento terrorista que mata y que siembra el odio y la violencia”; enfatizó el presidente de la institución, quien bregó por una pronta y duradera paz en la región.
