Innumerables muestras de pesar entre los dirigentes de la comunidad judía por el fallecimiento de Jaime Jacubovich Z´L. El ex secretario de Derechos Humanos de la Nación y presidente Honorario del Museo del Holocausto, Claudio Avruj, es uno de los que lo homenajearon.

La comunidad por definición es la familia extendida. Es ese espacio maravilloso donde podemos desarrollarnos, reconocernos, expresar nuestra solidaridad, enriquecernos, proyectarnos.

El trabajo de dirigente exige un fuerte y profundo entendimiento que esto es así y que la gratificación estará siempre en la alegría personal e íntima que da el saber que se entregó todo sin especulación alguna, sin búsqueda de réditos personales. Jaime Jacubovich así lo entendió.

Disfrutamos de muchas cosas con él: su buen humor contagioso, la mirada positiva permanente y su constante generosidad.

Tuve la suerte de conocerlo a finales de la década del noventa en tiempos difíciles de la DAIA. Llegó con la sola intención de aportar al fortalecimiento institucional, ese era su afán. En lo personal, a mí me cautivó su historia de vida, (tuve la suerte de entrevistarlo en mi ciclo televisivo Historias para Contar) y leí cada uno de sus libros que personalmente él se encargaba de regalar con el solo afán de profundizar los lazos humanos.

Fue generoso con la comunidad judía, con el Estado de Israel y con la sociedad. Son muchas las organizaciones y las personas que recibieron mucho de él, humanamente y materialmente.

Su compromiso con la educación de la Shoá fue profundo como así también en la lucha contra el antisemitismo.

Le regaló a la DAIA un proyecto de enorme significación para su trabajo y cumplimiento de su misión. Fue en el año 2005 cuando luego de aprobada la resolución 60/7 de la ONU, que determinó el 27 de Enero día Internacional del Holocausto y él entendió que debía exigirse a cada país responsable de la tragedia de la Shoá un reconocimiento y una disculpa.

No lo motivó la venganza, sino la educación y la cultura del encuentro en el respeto y por sobretodo poner bien alto el honor judío.

Así nació  de su inspiración junto a Ariel Blufstein, el programa de «Homenajes a las Víctimas y sobrevivientes de la Shoá» en las embajadas acreditadas en la Argentina. Diecisiete embajadores europeos entre los años 2005 y 2011 hablaron por sus países y gobiernos, pidieron perdón, reconocieron la Shoá, se hicieron cargo del daño causado. Hoy con el tiempo puede al lector resultar actos obvios, pero no es así. El trabajo de la memoria, la defensa de la dignidad requiere de valentía, audacia, decisión  e inventiva. Este programa lo tuvo.

«SERÁN LA VIDA«, es el título del libro que guarda la memoria de lo realizado, allí están para siempre las palabras de los embajadores, de la DAIA y de los sobrevivientes en cada ceremonia.

El libro fue donación de Jaime, lo editó la DAIA, y llegó a Israel.

Tuve la suerte como Secretario de Derechos Humanos de que el Estado también se nutra de esta propuesta con una nueva edición que presentamos en la Feria del Libro para luego entregarla a cada escuela de la ciudad. La constancia de Jaime lo posibilitó.

La vida de la comunidad se construye con las acciones de los hombres, son sus obras e ideas las que nos quedan y que deben inspirarnos.

Este es mi recuerdo y homenaje a una persona que merece el mayor respeto, el agradecimiento permanente y el buen recuerdo.
