Un ejemplo de vida, un buen judío, mi homenaje a Jaime Jacubovich Z’L

Generoso como pocos, idealista más que muchos y con un sentido del humor único, así era Jaime.

Lo conocí cuando empecé a trabajar en la DAIA en el vínculo con las Embajadas acreditadas en nuestro país desde la comunidad judía. Desde el primer momento entendió, según sus palabras, la importancia de aquellos “homenajes a los sobrevivientes de la Shoá” que habíamos empezado a llevar a cabo en diferentes casas diplomáticas, corría el año 2005.

Desde ese momento Jaime se puso a disposición para tender su mano en todo lo referente a la planificación y organización de los eventos, fue uno de los motores que llevaron adelante 18 eventos en diferentes sedes diplomáticas durante los años 2005 a 2011.

Con toda esa historia en nuestros hombros un día me plantea la idea de plasmar todo aquello en un libro y así nace “Serán la Vida, homenajes a las víctimas y sobrevivientes de la Shoá” que fue presentado en el 2015 y que Jaime trabajo arduamente para hacer llegar el libro no solo adentro de nuestra comunidad sino fuera de la misma. Entendía que la educación era la única arma con el que se podía combatir el antisemitismo y la discriminación.

No voy a olvidar nuestras interminables charlas de café a la vuelta de su casa, [su oficina] como siempre decía. Siempre atento y preocupado por el accionar comunitario y por sobre todo pensando cómo podía ayudar. Me acompañó a muchas recepciones diplomáticos, hasta se hizo asiduo concurrente a las mismas donde siempre tenía una palabra para el Embajador/a que visitábamos.

Jaime fue un azkan comunitario full life. Un ejemplo de que los puestos o títulos son poco importantes a la hora de querer y poder ayudar a la comunidad; Jaime fue un buen hombre, de esos que pocas veces te cruzas en la vida. Tuve el honor de poder compartir con él estos últimos 20 años y soñar despierto proyectos que se hicieron realidad. Él me enseñó que con esfuerzo las cosas son posibles.

Hoy es un día triste, se fue un amigo….
