Estados Unidos incluye a Israel en el nivel más alto de riesgo de Covid

Los Centros de Control de Enfermedades (CDC) de Estados Unidos añadieron el lunes a Israel a su nivel de riesgo más alto de Covid, aconsejando a los ciudadanos estadounidenses que eviten viajar.

Según trascendió, el CDC elevó a Israel a una clasificación de “Nivel 4: nivel muy alto de Covid”, aconsejando a los residentes de Estados Unidos que se aseguren de estar completamente vacunados antes de viajar, si es que tienen que hacerlo.

También advirtió que, debido a la situación actual en Israel, incluso los viajeros totalmente vacunados pueden correr el riesgo de contraer y propagar las variantes del coronavirus. La recomendación incluye también a Judea y Samaria y Gaza.

La CDC había clasificado previamente a Israel como país de “Nivel 3”, recomendando los estadounidenses que evitaran todos los viajes no esenciales.

Esta clasificación se produce horas después de que surgieran informes de que Israel consideraría añadir a EE.UU. a su lista de países a los que se prohíbe viajar.

Según la cadena Kan, el tema se planteó con frecuencia en los últimos debates, pero el Ministerio de Sanidad aún no tomó una decisión.

El ministerio anunció que el status de viaje de EE.UU. será recategorizado como “Alerta de viaje COVID-19” a partir del 11 de agosto, lo que obligará a todos los viajeros que lleguen a Israel procedentes de este país a permanecer en cuarentena, independientemente de su estado de vacunación.

Según los datos del Ministerio de Sanidad publicados el lunes, el número de enfermos graves por coronavirus ascendió a 360. Además, el total de casos de aumentó en 3.372, pero la tasa de pruebas positivas se mantuvo en el 3,87%. En comparación con la última ola de la pandemia, la tasa fue del 9%.
