El rabino Howard Joseph, quien se desempeñó como líder espiritual de la Congregación española y portuguesa de Montreal, la sinagoga más antigua de Canadá, durante cuatro décadas, falleció.

El rabino Joseph fue un pilar durante mucho tiempo del movimiento ortodoxo moderno en Canadá. También era bien conocido por su trabajo en las relaciones interreligiosas.
