Irán le dio un puesto en su Gobierno a otro acusado por el atentado a la AMIA

El presidente de Irán, Ebrahim Raisi, anunció el nombramiento de Mohsen Rezai, principal acusado del atentado a la AMIA, como vicepresidente encargado de Asuntos Económicos.

Rezai se desempeña desde 1997 como Secretario del Consejo de Discernimiento de los Altos Intereses de Irán. Antes, fue el jefe de la Guardia Revolucionaria durante 16 años, período que incluyó tanto el ataque a la AMIA como al de la embajada israelí en Argentina, este último en 1992.

De hecho, Rezai también estuvo implicado en este atentado por su propio hijo, Ahmad, quien en 1998 desertó a EE.UU. y pidió asilo político. Allí le contó al gobierno norteamericano que el ataque a la embajada de Israel en 1992 se planeó en Teherán (capital de Irán) y que él acompañó a su padre al Líbano para presenciar el entrenamiento de los autores materiales del atentado, que la Corte Suprema Argentina determinó que ejecutó la Jihad Islámica, brazo armado de Hezbollah. En 2008, Ahmad volvió a Irán pero poco después emigró a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Tres años después lo hallaron muerto en un hotel en Dubai en condiciones que no se aclararon.

Como consecuencia de su imputación en el atentado a la AMIA, en tanto, pesa sobre Rezai una alerta roja de Interpol, la cual detalla que se encuentra acusado de “Homicidio calificado, doblemente agravado, en perjuicio de 85 víctimas fatales, en concurso ideal con lesiones leves y lesiones graves calificadas, en forma reiterada y daños múltiples agravados por haber sido cometidos por odio racial o religioso”.

Hace dos semanas, Raisi designó a Ahmad Vahidi como ministro del Interior del gobierno de Irán, también acusado de participar en el ataque contra AMIA. Eso generó, a su vez, condenas de los Gobiernos de Argentina e Israel.

Vahidi fue jefe de la Fuerza Quds, el brazo paramilitar del Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria Islámica de ese país. Estaba en el cargo en el momento en que se perpetró el atentado del 18 de julio de 1994. Desde 2007, a Vahidi – sindicado por la justicia argentina de ser partícipe responsable del ataque terrorista – lo busca Interpol.
