La empresa estadounidense de ropa deportiva Nike dejará de vender sus productos a decenas de tiendas y cadenas minoristas en todo Israel.

Los minoristas de ropa deportiva de Israel están furiosos después de que el gigante internacional de las zapatillas deportivas Nike les comunicara el domingo que dejará de trabajar con ellos para comercializar sus productos. La medida entrará en vigor a partir del 31 de mayo de 2022.

Como una de las marcas principales del mundo y de Israel, la pérdida de esas ventas pesará en los negocios de tiendas deportivas del país.

En una carta enviada el domingo a los propietarios de las tiendas se les informó que “tras una revisión exhaustiva realizada por la empresa y teniendo en cuenta la evolución del mercado, se decidió que la continuación de la relación comercial entre usted y la empresa ya no se ajusta a la política y los objetivos de la empresa”.

La decisión está en consonancia con los planes globales de la empresa. Es que está recortando el número de tiendas con las que trabaja para dirigir a los clientes a comprar sus zapatillas, ropa y equipamiento en su página web y en sus tiendas. Nike cree que puede obtener beneficios mayores y controlar su experiencia de producto premium gestionando ella misma todo el proceso de venta. La compañía también terminó su relación con Amazon en 2019.

No obstante, las tiendas de Israel dicen que la medida perjudicará sus capacidades para seguir siendo rentables. Algunos pueden optar por las importaciones paralelas, recibiendo productos de Nike de proveedores que no se conectan con Nike, pero eso aumentará los precios.

David Benny, dueño de la tienda Ram Sports, vendió productos Nike en su tienda durante los últimos 35 años. “Hace tres años, Nike comenzó a limitar los modelos de exhibición que podemos pedir, alegando que eran exclusivos de Nike y Foot Locker. Nos dijeron de antemano que algunos modelos estaban fuera de nuestro alcance y, a veces, no recibiríamos un modelo que pedimos. El jueves recibí una llamada telefónica de mi vendedora, quien me dijo que debido a una reorganización, se dejan de relacionar con nosotros», expresó.

Resultó que otros 70 propietarios de pequeñas y medianas tiendas y cadenas recibieron el mismo mensaje.
