Un Irán nuclear «puede tomar al mundo entero como rehén», advirtió el ex primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu. Esto lo dijo mientras el gobierno de Biden parece estar al final de las negociaciones para revivir el difunto acuerdo.
En declaraciones al presentador de Fox News, Mark Levin, Netanyahu explicó que «una vez que un depredador, y especialmente en un régimen teocrático canalla como éste, tiene armas nucleares, puede utilizarlas de dos maneras. Una es que pueden amenazarte directamente con bombas atómicas. En segundo lugar, tienen un paraguas nuclear, que es… para amenazarte con armas convencionales como misiles normales o terroristas».
Un Irán nuclear «cambia la historia. Y por eso di el paso inusual de venir al Congreso, algo que no era fácil de hacer», aseguró.
Netanyahu se dirigió al Congreso de Estados Unidos en 2015 para hablar de la amenaza que supone un Irán nuclear. Lo hizo en contra de los deseos de la administración Obama.
«Creo que es importante impedir que Irán disponga de esos medios», subrayó. «Si quieren entender lo malo que es este acuerdo, no sólo le da a Irán la libertad con una legitimidad internacional para enriquecer uranio y una cantidad ilimitada con centrifugadoras mucho más sofisticadas en unos pocos años. También les da dinero, una enorme cantidad de dinero», agregó.
Al parecer, el nuevo acuerdo que se está negociando bloquea el programa nuclear de Irán sólo de forma limitada. Al mismo tiempo descongela sus activos congelados, que se destinarán a la financiación de su red mundial de terrorismo, reportó Ynet.

También criticó la conducta de la administración Biden como «absurda». «Se trata de que el mundo democrático -desgraciadamente, el resto del mundo- se doblegue ante este régimen canalla. Le da tanto las armas de muerte masiva como un enorme montón de dinero en efectivo… Simplemente no tiene sentido», remarcó.
La portavoz del Departamento de Estado de EE.UU., Jalina Porter, informó a los periodistas que «ciertamente no haría la valoración de que este es un caso cerrado para EE.UU».
«Hay una serie de negociaciones complejas y seguimos trabajando en ellas. Hay una serie de dificultades en las que no voy a poder adelantar nada desde aquí», concluyó.
