El pasado martes, la Marina de los Estados Unidos confirmó que el dron que ataco la última semana al petrolero del israelí Idan Ofer en las costas de Omán era Irán.

El ejército estadounidense señaló que se trataba del modelo Shahed-136, reportó The Times of Israel.

Luego del ataque, la Armada estadounidense abordó el barco para evaluar los daños, recolectar escombros y residuos de bombas.

Según trascendió, la evidencia analizada terminó de identificar de qué modelo se trataba el avión no tripulado (UAV).

Brad Cooper, comandante del ejército estadounidense, señaló: “El ataque iraní a un petrolero comercial que transitaba por aguas internacionales fue deliberado, flagrante y peligroso, puso en peligro la vida de la tripulación del barco y desestabilizó la seguridad marítima en Oriente Medio”.

La pasada semana, el petrolero israelí Pacific Zircon fue atacado por aviones no tripulados (UAV) en la costa de Omán.

Luego del hecho, la compañía indicó que la embarcación solo sufrió daños menores y que no hubo derrames de petróleo.
