Con la salida de la primera estrella, este viernes la comunidad judía celebrará Rosh Hashaná. Festividad que se extenderá hasta el atardecer del domingo 20 de septiembre.

Durante esos días, se lleva adelante un momento de meditación e introspección. En el que se realiza un balance del comportamiento que se tuvo durante el año saliente, y se prepara espiritualmente para iniciar el nuevo año. Teniendo en cuenta los errores a remendar y las conductas a mejorar en el futuro.

Ante la llegada de Rosh Hashaná 5781, en una carta dirigida a la comunidad, el Gran Rabino Gabriel Davidovich, se refirió a estos momentos tan especiales y complejos que estamos atravesando. “En este tiempo, entre otras situaciones desafiantes, nos toca vivir una pandemia global, que afectó a toda la humanidad sin distinción”, resaltó.

“Este es el momento adecuado para afianzar nuestra fe. Fortalecer los valores morales que caracterizan siempre a nuestro pueblo. Al oír el sonido del shofar, elevar nuestra plegaria al Rey del Mundo con nuestros pedidos”, expresó en otro pasaje de la carta.

“Querida comunidad:

Está culminando el año, se acerca Rosh Hashaná 5781.

Si hacemos un repaso de lo acontecido en los últimos ocho meses del año saliente, 5780, vemos cómo cambió nuestro vertiginoso ritmo de vida, por una nueva realidad.

En este tiempo, entre otras situaciones desafiantes, nos toca vivir una pandemia global, que afectó a toda la humanidad sin distinción de religión, edad o sexo.

Hemos experimentado situaciones inéditas, de incertidumbre y temor ante peligros invisibles, y aparentemente sin soluciones a corto plazo. Suficiente evidencia de que la ciencia y la tecnología por sí mismas son ineficaces para devolver la normalidad nuestras vidas.

De lo único que tenemos certeza es que se sabe poco y nada. Y que estamos sólo en manos de Dios, Quien todo conoce y domina. Él trajo esta pandemia con un motivo que Él conoce y solo Él puede darle fin.

Por un lado, al pasar más tiempo con nuestras familias, pudimos reforzar el vínculo en nuestro hogar y aprendimos a dialogar. Y sentimos la distancia con nuestras amistades y la familia amplia, especialmente nuestros mayores, de los cálidos abrazos que consuelan, apoyan y alientan que lamentablemente se encuentran prohibidos en estos días.

Por otro lado, el confinamiento en nuestros hogares nos permitió apreciar el rol fundamental de los docentes que se ocupan día a día de la educación teórica, práctica y emocional de nuestros hijos, y el protagonismo de los abuelos en su formación integral, con dulzura y cariño, por medio del juego y el ejemplo.

A la fuerza reconocimos en esta “anormalidad” (o nueva normalidad) que no tenemos tanto control sobre nuestras vidas como pensábamos. Nos encontramos frente a la fragilidad de las estructuras sociales y económicas que construimos, y en las que confiábamos, y de un día para otro el mundo se volvió un caos inimaginable.

Todo esto es claramente una manifestación de Dios enseñándonos a ser más humildes y ayudándonos a enfocarnos en las cosas importantes, olvidadas o relegadas por el ajetreo cotidiano, y que ahora no tenemos dudas de que son las que realmente tienen valor.

Este es el momento adecuado para afianzar nuestra fe, fortalecer los valores morales que caracterizan siempre a nuestro pueblo, y al oír el sonido del Shofar, elevar nuestra plegaria al Rey del Mundo con nuestros pedidos. Estando unidos, confiamos en que Dios nos responderá con todas las bendiciones que sólo Él puede dar, otorgándonos un año de salud, paz, alegría y bienestar en nuestro país, en Israel y en todo el mundo.
