Una iniciativa del gobierno israelí programada para la próxima semana denominada «Semana de la Diáspora» destacará la conexión de Israel con las comunidades judías en el extranjero. Lo hará con programas educativos y sociales destinados a fortalecer esos vínculos, anunció el martes el Ministerio de Asuntos de la Diáspora.
La “Semana de la Diáspora” comenzará el domingo, con programas previstos en museos, escuelas y otros lugares.
“La judería mundial es nuestra carne y nuestra sangre. Hoy más que nunca podemos ver lo importante que es esta conexión. Así como la necesidad crítica de apoyo mutuo entre las dos partes del pueblo judío”. Eso dijo el ministro de Asuntos de la Diáspora, Nachman Shai, en un comunicado.
No es la primera vez que el gobierno israelí celebra una “Semana de la Diáspora”. La edición de 2022 se anuncia como el mayor evento de este tipo.
Durante la semana, el Museo del Pueblo Judío de la ANU en Tel Aviv -anteriormente conocido como Beit Hatfutsot- estará abierto al público de forma gratuita. Lo hará junto con el Museo Herzl de Jerusalén.

El Ministerio de Asuntos de la Diáspora también colabora con el Ministerio de Educación. Lo hará para celebrar una serie de actos en escuelas y programas educativos israelíes y con las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel.
Como parte del evento de una semana de duración, 500 recién graduados de la escuela secundaria de Israel irán de excursión con 500 adolescentes judíos del extranjero. Lo harán a lo largo del Sendero Nacional de Israel para “conocerse mejor y entender los antecedentes mutuos”, dijo el ministerio.
Los jóvenes judíos del extranjero que están visitando Israel visitarán las bases de las FDI para reunirse con los soldados. Los soldados de las FDI nacidos en el extranjero también hablarán a sus unidades sobre sus vidas en el extranjero. Un programa similar se llevará a cabo para las mujeres que realizan el servicio nacional civil, dijo el ministerio.
La iniciativa se lanzará el domingo con un evento en la Residencia del Presidente. Asistirán el presidente Isaac Herzog, el ministro de Asuntos de la Diáspora Shai y líderes judíos de todo el mundo. Se discutirán las relaciones de Israel con las comunidades judías en el extranjero.
“Tenemos que subrayar la importancia de estos lazos durante todo el año y celebrarlos durante la Semana de la Diáspora. Los actos de este año son una verdadera celebración. Invito a todos a participar y aprovechar la oportunidad de conocer a nuestros hermanos y hermanas de la diáspora”, dijo Shai en un comunicado.

El lunes, el ministerio también celebrará una gran gala en el Centro Internacional de Convenciones de Jerusalén. Será presentada por la productora y activista israelí Noa Tishbi, con actuaciones musicales de la banda Tikva Shesh, Esther Rada e Idan Yaniv.
La directora general del Ministerio de Asuntos de la Diáspora, Tziona Koenig-Yair, habló sobre el acto de este año. Dijo que se celebra en un momento en que Israel es muy consciente de su conexión y sus compromisos con los judíos en el extranjero debido a la guerra de Ucrania.
“La Semana de la Diáspora de este año tiene lugar a la sombra de una guerra dura y compleja. La judería ucraniana está experimentando una agitación. A su vez, los judíos de todo el mundo están asumiendo el reto de asistir a decenas de miles de judíos que necesitan ayuda”, dijo Koenig-Yair.
“Para la Semana de la Diáspora de este año queremos enfatizar y mostrar aprecio por esta relación especial dentro del pueblo judío, una conexión que cruza continentes y que subraya el hecho de que el pueblo judío es más fuerte que nunca y es capaz de ayudar a sus hermanos y hermanas en cualquier momento y en cualquier lugar, en tiempos de crisis y en tiempos más rutinarios también”, dijo.
