Luego de que aparecieron pintadas racistas y antisemitas en las puertas de los baños de la guardería y además se quemaron documentos, la escuela primaria «Rizzo-Marino», en Mazara del Vallo, Sicilia, tuvo que suspender las clases en forma provisoria.
Con pintura negra, en una puerta estaba escrito «Cuarto negro», en la otra «Cuarto judío». El nombre «Giulia» apareció en algunas paredes, mientras se volteó un aula, se quemaron algunos documentos y se quemó una carpa en la planta baja.
En el primer piso del complejo se vaciaron los polvos de dos extintores a lo largo de los pasillos. Fuera de la escuela Rizzo Marino, a la que asisten 400 alumnos, está el sistema de videovigilancia de la Municipalidad pero no funciona.
