Ariel Jonatan Steiner es el hijo de Natalio, periodista comunitario, director del medio Comunidades Plus y profesor durante 33 años en la Escuela ORT. Ariel tiene 29 años, es discapacitado físico-mental de nacimiento con 85 % de discapacidad certificada.
No habla, no escribe, usa pañales y no camina. Fue operado de subluxación de ambas caderas y además tiene prótesis en su pierna derecha. Todo ello por la falta de movilidad, lo que también le ocasiona trastornos intestinales para los que está medicado. Todo eso le genera efectos colaterales que agravan su situación.
Desde el comienzo de la pandemia, la Obra Social para la Actividad Docente (OSPLAD) dejó de pagar, como lo obliga la ley, en forma regular, a los dos asistentes, la kinesióloga y a la escuela de Ariel. De los últimos 9 pagos, adeuda 7.

La Obra Social se presentó en concurso de acreedores. Los Steiner fueron a la justicia y obtuvieron una medida cautelar y dos fallos judiciales a favor, uno ordinario y otro de Cámara.
Natalio le dice a Vis á Vis que «OSPLAD sigue dilatando los pagos a los asistentes que cuidan y asean a mi hijo. Mi esposa y yo ya no tenemos fuerza para hacerlo». Luego de un año y tres meses de lucha continua denunciamos en el INADI, Andis, Superintendencia de Salud y otros entes más (también sin resultado). Les debemos a los asistentes al momento 7 MESES de sus sueldos». La ley 24901 obliga a OSPLAD a abonarlo. A pesar de la convocatoria de acreedores de la Obra Social, algo que los podría llevar a la quiebra, decidimos ampliar la denuncia al campo penal por abandono de persona contra los responsables de este desmanejo».
Intervino la Defensoría de Menores e Incapacitados, y otros entes oficiales sin respuesta satisfactoria por parte de la obra social. La respuesta no oficial de la obra social es que la Superintendencia de Salud Social no gira los fondos a la cuenta discapacidad.
Luego de solicitar en varias oportunidades una entrevista al presidente de la obra, Daniel Peratta, tampoco obtuvieron respuestas.
La no asistencia a Ariel por parte de sus cuidadores y personal médico, implicará que se quede inmovilizado en su cama ortopédica ya que nadie podrá ayudarlo.
Es indudable que la única manera que hay de que esto se solucione es que OSPLAD o algún ente oficial regularice esta situación y Ariel vuelva a tener la gente que lo acompañe, ayude y no se deteriore aún más su salud ni la de sus padres.
