Timothy Hale-Cusanelli (30) trabajaba como contratista de seguridad en una base de la Marina cuando supuestamente violó el Capitolio el 6 de enero.
En documentos judiciales presentados, los fiscales federales en Washington contaron que sus compañeros de trabajo en la Estación de Armas Navales Earle, en Colts Neck, Nueva Jersey, dijeron a los investigadores que tenía opiniones de supremacistas blancos.
La presentación incluía fotos del teléfono celular de Hale-Cusanelli de él con un bigote de Hitler, junto con dibujos animados pro-nazis.
Un marinero de la Armada, por su parte, expresó que Hale-Cusanelli le dijo que «mataría a todos los judíos y se los comería para el desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena. Y que no necesitaría sazonarlos porque la sal de sus lágrimas lo haría lo suficientemente sabroso».

Jonathan Zucker, su abogado, aseveró que no había evidencia de que su cliente perteneciera a ninguna organización supremacista blanca.
Las autoridades, a su vez, dijeron que Hale-Cusanelli grabó videos de sí mismo insultando a los oficiales de policía del Capitolio, subiendo un andamio para entrar al edificio a través de las puertas abiertas por los alborotadores y gritando «¡Detengan el robo!». Algunos de esos videos se publicaron en las redes sociales.
Desde entonces, Hale-Cusanelli fue dado de baja de la Reserva del Ejército y excluido de la base naval, según el documento.
