El primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu anunció la victoria tras las elecciones celebradas en Israel, aunque no  si podría formar gobierno.

El primer ministro Benjamin Netanyahu no podría formar gobierno por séptima vez en sus tres décadas de carrera política, según los resultados preliminares del 97% de los colegios electorales regulares informados por el Comité Central de Elecciones.
Se descubrió que el bloque de Netanyahu de Likud, Shas, United Torah Judaism y el Partido Religioso ganó 59 escaños junto con Yamina, dos menos que la mayoría.

Según los resultados preliminares, el Likud de Netanyahu ganó 30 escaños, Yesh Atid 18, Shas 9, Blue and White 8, United Torah Judaism, Yamina and Labor 7, New Hope, Yisrael Beytenu, el Partido Sionista Religioso 6 y Meretz 5. El Likud ganó 31 escaños en KAN, 30 en Canal 12 y 31 en Canal 13; Shas, por su parte, ganó 9 en KAN y Canal 12 y 9 en el Canal 13; UTJ obutvo 6 en Canal 12 y 7 en Canal 13 y KAN; el Partido Sionista Religioso logró 7 en el Canal 12 y KAN, y el Canal 13 le otorgó 6 escaños; finalmente, Yamina ganó 7 en Canal 12, KAN y Canal 13.

Fuentes del Likud, a su vez, expresaron que Netanyahu intentaría formar un gobierno lo antes posible. Los asociados de Bennett aseveraron que «no estaban en el bolsillo de Netanyahu», y que unirse a su gobierno no era una conclusión inevitable.

Netanyahu anunció la victoria a través de su Twitter: «Una victoria gigante». Luego llamó a Bennett, quien expresó que estaba esperando los resultados finales. El actual PM también llamó a los otros líderes de su campo político y les pidió que se unieran a su gobierno.

Votó el 67,2%, lo que marcó una caída del 4,3% respecto de las elecciones de marzo pasado. Además, fue la participación la más baja de las cuatro elecciones de los últimos dos años.

El líder de Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, llevó a su partido a 18 escaños según el Canal 12 y KAN y a 17 (Canal 13), pero su bloque anti-Netanyahu no logró la mayoría. Al mismo tiempo, habló con el líder de Meretz, Nitzan Horovitz, y acordó «trabajar por el bien del país».

El Partido Nueva Esperanza de Gideon Sa’ar ganó 6 escaños según los tres canales. En un discurso a los activistas de su partido, restó importancia a su derrota y pidió esperar los resultados finales. También prometió no ingresar en un gobierno liderado por Netanyahu.

Gantz agradeció a sus seguidores por demostrar su confianza en él. «A partir de mañana haré todo lo posible para unir el bloque pro-cambio. Y si nos vemos obligados a enfrentar una quinta ronda de elecciones, protegeré atentamente nuestra democracia, el estado de derecho y la seguridad. Israel es lo primero», declaró.
