Israel reabre este martes el paso fronterizo de Kerem Shalom para permitir el traslado de gas, alimentos y medicinas a los residentes de Gaza.

La frontera se cerró tras los acontecimientos durante Iom Ierushalaim que reavivaron el lanzamiento de cohetes desde la Franja de Gaza hacia Israel, tras los intensos disturbios en la Ciudad Vieja de Jerusalén, cuando la policía detuvo a 15 personas que lanzaban piedras cerca del paso fronterizo.

 

La última vez que Israel cerró Kerem Shalom fue en agosto, cuando los disparos de cohetes y los globos incendiarios procedentes de la Franja de Gaza asolaron las comunidades del sur del Estado Judío. En ese momento permaneció abierto para ayuda humanitaria esencial y el combustible, como parecería ser el caso actual.

Este cruce fronterizo, a su vez, es el principal paso comercial de Gaza hacia Israel. Como tal, su cierre refleja el nivel de intensidad que alcanzó la escalada.

El lunes las sirenas sonaron en las comunidades de la Alta Galilea de Israel, cerca de la frontera con el Líbano, ya que los residentes del área de Misgav Am y Metulla informaron haber escuchado sonidos de una explosión.

Se lanzaron seis cohetes desde el Líbano, aunque ninguno superó la frontera y aterrizaron en territorio libanés, informaron las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI).
