El antisemitismo llegó a dos hospitales de Londres: «¿Cómo puede trabajar aquí alguien que mata niños?»

En un aumento significativo de antisemitismo en las últimas semanas tras el conflicto Israel – Hamás, se conocieron dos nuevos casos graves en hospitales de Londres.

Una enfermera neonatal judía fue acorralada por dos hombres en un ascensor del hospital  Royal London. Vieron que llevaba un collar con el Maguen David y la acusaron de de matar a niños palestinos.

Se trata de Hadasa Abrams (27 años), quien relató cómo los hombres comenzaron a interrogarla después de notar su cadena.

«Estaba en el ascensor regresando a la sala después de las oraciones de minja. Alguien vio mi collar y me preguntó si creo en Palestina Libre», comentó Abrams.

“Les dije que era judía. En realidad estaba petrificada cuando lo hice, y él me dijo ‘¿cómo podría alguien que viene de esa gente, de gente que mata a niños inocentes, trabajar aquí?'», contó la enfermera. Y agregó: “Me preguntaron si trabajaba aquí para matar gente».

Abrams dijo que denunció el incidente a la seguridad del hospital y a la organización de seguridad de la comunidad judía de Londres (CST). Se comprometieron a revisar las imágenes de seguridad para intentar identificar a las personas.

El Royal London tiene su sede en un barrio musulmán de Londres. Abrams dijo que por lo general no se destaca porque usa un pañuelo en la cabeza.

“El 90% de los bebés que cuido son musulmanes y los cuido como si fueran mis propios hijos. Con todo el amor, con todo lo que necesitan. No importa su raza, religión ni nada. Reciben todo el amor que necesitan», aseguró.

Por otra parte, otro de los hospitales de Londres, el Royal Free, también fue foco de antisemitismo.

Una paciente judía denunció que un profesional de la salud llevaba una bandera de Palestina en su chaqueta y una insignia que decía: «Dejen de matar a nuestros hijos».

A su vez, la paciente, que acudió al hospital para sacarse sangre, afirmó que pidió a otro médico para que le extrajera sangre, pero mientras se alejaba, el miembro del personal «se pasó el dedo por la garganta».

Un portavoz del Royal Free aseguró que las acusaciones se están investigando y se tomaron «extremadamente en serio». De todas formas, no hubo una denuncia formal ni se identificó a la denunciante.

«No toleramos el comportamiento racista o antisemita de ningún tipo, de nadie en nuestras instalaciones. El Royal Free London se enorgullece de la rica diversidad de pacientes a los que atendemos. Nos tomamos estas acusaciones muy en serio. Aunque no recibimos una queja formal, investigaremos este asunto a fondo. Instamos a cualquier persona que experimente abuso racista o antisemita en cualquiera de nuestros hospitales a que lo informe de inmediato», aseveró el portavoz.
