Bennett confirmó que intentará formar un gobierno junto con Lapid

El líder del partido Yamina, Naftali Bennett, confirmó el domingo su respaldo abierto a la idea de establecer un gobierno en Israel junto con Yair Lapid, jefe de Yesh Atid.

“Tengo la intención de trabajar con todas mis fuerzas para conformar un gobierno de unidad con mi amigo Yair Lapid”, expresó Bennett durante su discurso ofrecido en horario estelar televisivo.

“De modo de que, con la ayuda de Dios, juntos rescatemos al país del vértigo y regresemos a Israel al camino correcto”, agregó.

Lapid cuenta hasta el próximo miércoles 2 de junio para intentar conformar una coalición de gobierno. Ese día expira el mandato oficial para ello entregado por el presidente de Israel, Reuvén Rivlin.

“En los últimos dos años y medio, el Estado de Israel ha estado girando de una campaña electoral tras otra. Durante cuatro campañas electorales miramos con ojos ciegos a nuestro país saboteándose, debilitándose y perdiendo su capacidad de funcionar”, continuó Bennett.

“Ministros del gobierno en conflicto que no dirigen nada, disturbios y quema de sinagogas en Lod y Aco, descuido mortal e irresponsabilidad en la tragedia de Merón. En lugar de administrar, cuidar, liderar, la patente permanente es sacar el fuego afuera, fomentar el odio y la polarización entre los distintos sectores para encubrir el fracaso”, acusó.

“Hace dos mil años perdimos un Estado judío aquí por conflictos internos. Esto no ocurrirá de nuevo. No durante mi cargo”, expresó Bennett.

Además, dijo: “La crisis política en Israel no tiene precedentes. Podemos ir a quintas, sextas, décimas elecciones, desmantelar los muros del país, ladrillo por ladrillo, hasta que nuestra casa se nos caiga encima. Y podemos detener la locura y asumir responsabilidad. Hay quien nos dice que hay un gobierno de derecha a la vuelta de la esquina y solo nosotros estamos impidiendo su formación. Esto es una mentira total. No hay un gobierno de derecha. Cuatro elecciones y dos meses nos demostraron a todos que simplemente no hay un gobierno de derecha encabezado por Netanyahu. Es una quinta elección o un gobierno de unidad. Y quien les diga lo contrario está mintiendo descaradamente”.

Por otra parte, manifestó: «Netanyahu ya no está tratando de formar un gobierno de derecha porque sabe muy bien que no lo hay. Quiere llevarse todo el campo nacional con él, y todo el país a su fortaleza privada. Yair y yo no estamos de acuerdo en varios temas, pero compartimos el amor por el país y la voluntad de trabajar por él». Y aseveró: «Yair demostró liderazgo y generosidad durante este momento difícil, y tendré el honor de liderar el país con él, con Gideon Sa’ar y los demás socios, juntos. Este gobierno solo tendrá éxito si trabajamos juntos, como grupo. No ‘yo’ sino ‘nosotros’. Devolveremos el ‘nosotros’ que ha sido el arma secreta de Israel desde su creación”.

Finalmente, concluyó: “Este no es un gobierno que realizará una separación, ni entregará territorios, ni tendrá miedo de lanzar una operación militar si es necesario. Cada lado tiene el mismo poder de voto y de veto. Pueden relajarse. Ciudadanos de Israel, llamo a aquellos que creen en el gobierno, que están dispuestos a darle una oportunidad”.
