El Ministerio de Salud de Israel confirmó que a partir de este martes 15 de junio dejó de ser obligatorio el uso de cubrebocas en áreas cerradas.

Según un comunicado de la dependencia, su director general, Jezy Levi, firmó una enmienda en la normatividad sanitaria que elimina el uso obligatorio de los cubrebocas en Israel a partir de mañana.

Además se indicó, no obstante, que el uso seguirá siendo obligatorio solo en algunos casos muy excepcionales para ciertas personas, según el posible riesgo.

Estas excepciones aplicarán para personal o invitados no vacunados de instituciones de asistencia social y salud, así como en instituciones para ancianos.

Asimismo, aplicará para aquellas personas que se dirigirán a un lugar en específico para aislarse debido a una sospecha de COVID-19 y para aquellos que se encuentren dentro de un vuelo en avión.

El uso obligatorio de cubrebocas en áreas abiertas se eliminó oficialmente el pasado 18 de abril, por los bajos niveles de contagios de COVID-19 en el país. Esto se debió a su exitosa campaña de vacunación y restricciones sanitarias a comienzos de 2021.

En Israel, a su vez, el barbijo se convirtió en una obligación el 12 de abril de 2020, cuando el país transitaba por su primera ola de COVID-19.

De acuerdo con los datos del Ministerio de Salud, solo 3 casos nuevos de coronavirus se registraron el lunes. En total se contabilizan 839.690. La cifra de muertos totales desde el inicio de la pandemia es de 6.428.
