Despidieron al director de la ceremonia inaugural de los JJOO por hacer una broma sobre el Holocausto

El director del espectáculo de la ceremonia de apertura de los JJOO de Tokio fue despedido previo al evento por bromear sobre el Holocausto.

Se trata de Kentaro Kobayashi, quien realizó un sketch de comedia en 1998 banalizando el Holocausto, y el video se viralizó en las últimas horas.

«Salió a la luz que, durante una actuación pasada, usó un lenguaje burlándose de un hecho trágico de la historia», dijo a los periodistas el director de Tokio 2020, Seiko Hashimoto.

«El comité organizador decidió relevar a Kobayashi de su puesto», añadió.

Kobayashi y un compañero de comedia pretendieron ser un par de famosos artistas de televisión para niños. Mientras hacían una lluvia de ideas sobre una actividad que involucra papel, Kobayashi se refiere a algunos recortes de muñecos de papel, describiéndolos como «los de esa época en que dijiste ‘juguemos al Holocausto'», lo que provocó la risa de la audiencia.

Una pieza musical de cuatro minutos que compuso fue retirada de la ceremonia. De todas formas, los organizadores no dejaron claro cómo el despido de Kobayashi podría afectar el evento.

«Todavía estamos considerando cómo llevar a cabo la ceremonia de apertura mañana», aseveró Hashimoto, teniendo en cuenta que el director de la apertura de los JJOO, por su banalización del Holocausto, ya no participará. «Quiero llegar a una conclusión lo más rápido posible».
