El adolescente del Bar Mitzvá, que no fue nombrado en el comunicado, leyó un rollo de la Torá donado por Jared Kushner. Él fue quien fue asesor del expresidente estadounidense DonaldTrump, informó Enlace Judío.
La ceremonia de Bar Mitzvá se produce aproximadamente un año después de que Bahréin firmara un acuerdo de normalización con Israel. Kushner ayudó a negociar. Israel ha firmado y se ha comprometido a acuerdos similares con los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Marruecos y Sudán.
Actualmente hay unos 50 judíos viviendo en Bahréin. Según el comunicado, los judíos de Omán celebraron recientemente un Bat Mitzvá, aunque no proporcionó más detalles para proteger la privacidad de la familia.
