El director general del Ministerio de Salud de Israel, Najman Ash, anunció este domingo que la tercera dosis de vacuna contra COVID-19 de Pfizer-BioNTech será a partir de ahora ofrecida a todos los israelíes mayores de 12 años, edad desde la que es elegible en el país la inoculación.
Para todos aquellos mayores de 12 años que tengan ya un esquema de 2 dosis, la tercera les será ofrecida si transcurrieron 5 meses desde la segunda inyección.
“Hoy estamos ampliando la posibilidad de recibir un refuerzo para toda la población, siempre que hayan pasado 5 meses desde la segunda dosis. A partir de hoy, la tercera dosis está abierta para todos”, declaró Ash durante una rueda de prensa con otras autoridades sanitarias, informó Enlace Judío.
El primer ministro israelí Naftali Bennett, dijo: “Este es un privilegio que ningún otro país tiene. La tercera dosis funciona. Ya se han vacunado 2 millones de israelíes. Israel es el único del mundo que lo ha hecho con éxito».

“Hago un llamado a todos los ciudadanos de 12 años o más a que vayan de inmediato a aplicarse la tercera dosis. Aquellos que no se han vacunado, deben hacerlo de inmediato. Así es como protegeremos la salud y el sustento”, agregó.
Además, se anunció que los israelíes que cuenten con la tercera dosis estarán exentos de cuarentenas cuando regresen de un viaje al extranjero. Se les solicitará solo que esperen el resultado negativo de una prueba de detección.

También se indicó que, a partir de octubre, el “pase verde” se concederá solo a quienes cuenten con la tercera dosis. También a quienes aún no tengan más de 5 meses desde que se aplicaron la segunda dosis.
Hasta el momento, Israel ofrecía la tercera dosis de la vacuna solo a los mayores de 30 años y pacientes inmunodeprimidos. Esa era una decisión en la que ha sido pionero a nivel mundial.

Más de un millón 960 mil personas mayores de 30 años recibieron la tercera dosis del biológico. Esto es según cifras del Ministerio de Salud de Israel,
En total, 5,951,706 israelíes cuentan con al menos una dosis y 5,468,809 cuentan con las dos dosis de la vacunación.
