La aerolínea EgyptAir lanzará vuelos directos entre Tel Aviv y El Cairo

EgyptAir, la aerolínea nacional de Egipto, tiene previsto operar vuelos directos entre El Cairo y Tel Aviv a principios del próximo mes.

Una vez que los vuelos comiencen después de Sucot, se espera que haya cuatro vuelos comerciales directos a la semana entre los aeropuertos internacionales.

Actualmente, los únicos vuelos entre Israel y El Cairo los opera Air Sinai, una filial de EgyptAir, pero se realizan en aviones sin bandera egipcia.

Por su parte, los vuelos de Air Sinai entre Tel Aviv y El Cairo tienen vigencia desde la década de 1980 para cumplir los términos del acuerdo de paz de 1979 entre Israel y Egipto. Pero se mantuvieron discretos en medio de las persistentes hostilidades entre las naciones.

Una vez relanzados los vuelos por EgyptAir serán operados por los aviones de la aerolínea totalmente marcados.

También el lunes, Israel levantó las restricciones de viaje a los ciudadanos que visitan la península del Sinaí. La fecha (a pocos días de la celebración de Sucot) influyó, ya que es un período popular para el destino de los viajes.

Tras meses de restricciones debido al COVID-19, ya no hay límite del número de israelíes que pueden viajar al Sinaí.

“Logramos encontrar una manera de permitir cruces ilimitados y a la vez respetar la normativa sobre el coronavirus. Nuestra libertad de movimiento es un derecho básico y debe ser protegido”, afirmó el ministro de Transporte, Merav Michaeli.

A partir del lunes, el paso fronterizo de Taba para autos entre Israel y el Sinaí estará plenamente operativo sin límite de permisos de entrada. Además, ampliará su horario de apertura.
