La policía de Estados Unidos arrestó al repartidor de pizza, Joseph Angel Alvarez, sospechoso de un crimen antisemita. Se lo acusa de matar a tiros a la abogada Georgette Kaufman y herir a Daniel, esposo de la víctima.
El detenido entregaba pizzas para la firma Papa John´s en la ciudad de El Paso, Texas. En noviembre del año pasado cometió el asesinato porque creía que Georgette y Daniel pertenecían a un culto judío que adora al diablo y mata bebés, informó Ynet.
A Alvarez se lo arrestó su lugar de trabajo luego de que los investigadores dieran con él. Lo lograron través del rastreo de teléfonos celulares cercanos a la escena del crimen.

Los primeros disparos los recibió Georgette, quien regresaba a su casa y murió antes de recibir atención médica. Luego Daniel fue impactado por cinco balas, una de ellas en la cabeza. Sin embargo, logró llegar hasta la casa de un vecino para llamar a emergencias.
Según investigaciones judiciales del estado de Texas, quedó claro que Alvarez defendía creencias religiosas y políticas extremas. Consideraba que cerca del área en que vivía la pareja se realizaban servicios de adoración al diablo y denunció abortos de «sacrificio de niños judíos». También reveló que eligió atacar la casa de los Kaufman porque portaban una bandera en apoyo a Joe Biden.

El asesinato ocurrió 10 días después de las elecciones presidenciales y seis días después de que Biden fuera declarado ganador. La investigación determinó que antes del asesinato Alvarez había enviado un correo electrónico a una casilla del ejército estadounidense en la que advertía sobre estas supuestas «ceremonias diabólicas» y declaraba sus intenciones homicidas.

En la carta Alvarez exigió que «la policía detenga a todos los asesinos de bebés» y se hizo eco de las teorías de conspiración de Qanon, cuyos partidarios culpan a los demócratas y los judíos de clase alta de integrar un culto satánico global que se alimenta de la sangre de niños, entre otras cosas.
