La cadena pública alemana Deutsche Welle (DW) despidió a 5 empleados tras una auditoría condenatoria sobre antisemitismo en el lugar de trabajo.

Dicha auditoría, basada en una investigación de dos meses, encontró casos aislados de antisemitismo, pero ningún problema sistémico. También se despidió a varios trabajadores autónomos; otros ocho casos se siguen investigando.

Se trata de declaraciones antisemitas virulentas hechas por el personal dentro y fuera del trabajo, así como de fallos en la contratación de personal y en la invitación a diversos oradores.

Deutsche Welle es una emisora pública, de propiedad estatal, financiada con impuestos federales. Ofrece una programación en todo el mundo en 30 idiomas.

Peter Limbourg, director general de la DW, se disculpó y anunció que se establecería un “código ético” de 10 puntos para evitar problemas de antisemitismo en el futuro. Al parecer, incluirá explicaciones sobre el tema y la diferencia entre las críticas legítimas a Israel y los llamamientos a la destrucción del Estado judío.

El Consejo Central de Judíos de Alemania, el principal del país, acogió con satisfacción las medidas de DW.

Su presidente, Josef Schuster, declaró: “No debe haber odio a Israel ni antisemitismo en los medios de comunicación financiados por los contribuyentes”.

Según el periódico Bild, uno de los periodistas cesados llamó a Israel un “cáncer que debe ser extirpado”. Otro escribió en 2018 que un “lobby judío controla muchas instituciones alemanas” para impedir las críticas a Israel.

Por su parte, un freelance y formador de la Academia DW comparó hace 3 años a los judíos con hormigas que invadieron “a través de nuestros puntos débiles.”

La auditoría la elaboró la ex ministra de Justicia, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, el experto en integración, Ahmad Mansour, y la experta en prevención de la radicalización, Beatrice Mansour.

Comenzaron su investigación el pasado mes de diciembre. Buscaron “publicaciones en línea, información sobre los distribuidores y socios de DW” implicados en los cargos. Sólo se analizaron los perfiles de acceso público, según el informe.

Aunque los investigadores descubrieron que gran parte del material ya había sido borrado de Internet, algunas pruebas se facilitaron de forma anónima.

Mansour también expresó que el personal utilizó “imágenes antisemitas clásicas hasta la negación del Holocausto”.

DW, a su vez, anunció sus planes de reforzar su sección de Israel y crear un equipo de expertos para integrar los temas del antisemitismo, el derecho a la existencia de Israel y la responsabilidad hacia la historia alemana con más fuerza en la oferta de la empresa.
