El propietario del Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, hizo una donación millonaria al Museo Conmemorativo del Holocausto Yad Vashem. El magnate ruso israelí lo calificó como “una nueva asociación estratégica a largo plazo”, publicó The Times of Israel.

“Estamos profundamente agradecidos con Roman Abramovich por esta generosa contribución. La misma fortalecerá significativamente la misión de Yad Vashem”, dijo el presidente de Yad Vashem, Dani Dayan.

“Esta asociación destaca su continua dedicación al recuerdo del Holocausto y la lucha contra el antisemitismo. Refuerza la determinación de Yad Vashem de seguir siendo el guardián de la memoria precisa y basada en hechos de la Shoah”, dijo Dayan.

El portavoz del museo, Simmy Allen, no dio la suma exacta. No obstante, dijo que se trata de “una donación de ocho dígitos”, situándola en decenas de millones de shekels.

“Con esta contribución, Roman Abramovich se convertirá en el segundo mayor donante privado de Yad Vashem. Después de Miri y Sheldon Adelson”, dijo.
