La Jihad Islámica Palestina alegó este martes mediante su vocero que la rehén israelí Hannah Katzir, de 77 años, murió en Gaza.
Hannah Katzir fue grabada por la Jihad Islámica en un video publicado el pasado 9 de noviembre. En el video también aparece el menor de edad Yigal Yaakov.
Al momento de publicar el video, la Jihad Islámica se dijo dispuesta a liberar a ambos, sin especificar qué condiciones buscaba al respecto.
El grupo terrorista no dio razones de la supuesta muerte de Katzir y culpó a Israel de demorarse en aceptar la oferta para su liberación.
Hannah Katzir es el segundo rehén que los terroristas de Gaza han alegado que han muerto, luego de Aryeh Zalmanovich, cuyo supuesto deceso fue anunciado el 17 de noviembre por Hamás.
Hasta el momento Israel no ha hecho comentarios públicos respecto al destino de Zalmanovich.
Israel solo ha confirmado oficialmente la muerte de las rehenes Noa Marciano y Yehudit Weiss, ambas, según las FDI, asesinadas por Hamás en Gaza.
Los cuerpos de Marciano y Weiss fueron recuperados por Israel en la zona del Hospital Shifa, donde ha estado operando por una semana.
¿Quién es Hannah Katzir?
Estaba en su casa en el Kibutz Nir Oz con su esposo Rami cuando los terroristas atacaron la comunidad el 7 de octubre, según The Times of Israel.
Hannah habló por teléfono con su hija Carmit varias veces esa mañana y le dijo que Rami había cerrado la casa con llave y que estaban en la habitación segura.
No volvió a contestar el teléfono después de las 8:44 am.
Horas más tarde, la familia se enteró que Rami fue asesinado y que Hannah estaba desaparecida.
Su hijo, Elad Katzir, también vive en Nir Oz y se le presume secuestrado. Durante su última conversación con su hermana, Carmit, logró decirle que los terroristas habían entrado en su casa.
Hannah, una exniñera del Kibutz que usa un andador, toma medicamentos y requiere atención médica constante.
Nació en una familia de sobrevivientes del Holocausto y, aunque no goza de perfecta salud, continuó trabajando en la lavandería del Kibutz, por preocupación por los soldados que sirven ahí.
Elad es un agricultor y activista social y se presenta cada semana para apoyar la lucha por la liberación de Hadar Goldin y Oron Shaul, dos soldados cuyos cuerpos se encuentran retenidos en Gaza.
