El oeste de Victoria tiene como punto de partida lo que lugareños de la zona califican como una invasión. Una banda neonazi está sembrando el temor en las comunidades.

De acuerdo a los afectados, que los consideran “matones neonazis de extrema derecha”, desde el pasado fin de semana se encuentran acechando, debido a sus dichos contra los habitantes australianos indígenas, a quienes describen como “infrahumanos” y por lo cual consideran necesaria una “revolución blanca”.

“Vine a esta zona para sentirme seguro. Nunca pensé que viviendo aquí estaría en peligro de grupos extremistas”, relató uno de los ofendidos por la presencia del grupo. “Miras a estas personas y son a las que más temes. Son como una serpiente cortada, simplemente no sabes lo que harían”, agregó,

Estiman más de 50 sujetos que invaden la región de Grampians y la ciudad Halls Gap, a unos 150 km. al noroeste de Ballarat.

Por su parte, los “adoradores de Hitler”, en palabras de un activista de derechos civiles local, son propensos a convertirse en un estallido de violencia, a juzgar por sus dichos y por la forma de comportarse en las zonas antes mencionadas.

Las imágenes que circulan los muestran como un grupo de hombres con el torso desnudo con pasamontañas junto a una cruz en llamas.

Acosan a turistas y a locales

Conforme pasa la semana, siguen circulando los testimonios de personas que viven y trabajan en Victoria.

En Halls Gap, por ejemplo, una mujer, Saskia Elling, relató su experiencia en el lago Bellfield, cuando vio a la banda neonazi al otro lado del agua.

“Mi pareja dijo que vio a alguien cantando ‘poder blanco’ y yo pensé ‘eso no puede ser verdad’. Luego, una hora después, corearon el Ku Klux Klan”, expresó.

Los lugareños realmente se muestran intimidados por la presencia y el comportamiento de los sujetos. “Fue intimidante, estábamos felices de estar al otro lado del lago”, aseguró Elling.

En el lugar donde se practica senderismo, conocido como Pinnacle, una pareja los encaró. “Preguntaron qué estaban haciendo y dijeron que eran neonazis y KKK. Luego empezaron a cantar. Vinimos aquí para mantener a nuestras familias seguras y están estas personas que te hacen sentir que estás en peligro”, relataron.

A su vez, testigos afirman que tienen interés en hacerse escuchar a lo lejos, ya que “Heil Hitler” trasciende desde el otro lado del lago.

“No son muy inteligentes”

Los neonazis participaron en una manifestación en la que dejaron claro que no son jóvenes que se destaquen por su inteligencia.

“Hicieron esta marcha por la ciudad con esvásticas y saludos de Hitler. Pero tenían estas pegatinas con ‘poder para el hombre blanco’”, aseguró Elling, agregando que el grupo no parece tener claro lo que apoya.

“Estaban retomando una parte horrible de la historia alemana (nazismo) y el KKK de los Estados Unidos. Mezclaron todo para ver qué salía. En un momento estaban cenando en el café Black Panther, que también es el nombre de un movimiento de empoderamiento negro contra el KKK. No parecen ser personas muy inteligentes”, dijo.

Aunque sean tomados por poco inteligentes, eso no quiere decir que no puedan hacerle daño a la comunidad aborigen, según los denunciantes.

La policía fue alertada pero la respuesta defraudó a los lugareños. En Alemania, donde está prohibido todo tipo de expresiones del nazismo, los habrían capturado. En Australia, en tanto, no pueden actuar si no cometieron delito alguno.

No es la primera vez que la zona aborigen australiana de Grampians enfrenta una invasión de este tipo. En 2017, otro grupo neonazi llegó con el mismo comportamiento.
