La coordinadora de Lengua Hebrea de Yeshurun Torá, Ruth Mendelson, dialogó con Vis á Vis sobre el modo en que los estudiantes conectan con el idioma.

Desde siempre, la institución prioriza la educación judía, que es su base fundacional. Los estudiantes leen Torá y realizan Tefilá cada día desde edad muy temprana. Entienden el hebreo como una herramienta, una llave que abra posibilidades reales de comunicación.

Además, Yeshurun le enseña a cada egresado y egresada de su Secundaria con el objetivo de brindarle posibilidades de estudiar, en un futuro, tanto en una ieshivá como en una Universidad en Israel, con el menor costo de adaptación posible.

“La idea es que los chicos adquieran el idioma del modo más similar posible a la manera en que adquieren su lengua materna”, afirmó Mendelson.

El hebreo es, en principio, la lengua de nuestras Fuentes. Somos el único pueblo que logró revitalizar un idioma hablado hace milenios y convertirlo en lengua coloquial. A su vez, el entramado entre la lengua hebrea y el pensamiento judío es tan fuerte y contenedor que su conocimiento nos permite comprender más profundamente nuestra herencia, el Arón Hasefarim Haiehudí, la colección de escritos de nuestro acervo judío.

Claramente, es nuestra responsabilidad transmitirlo con pasión, por eso nuestras morot están sumamente comprometidas con este objetivo.

Nuestros estudiantes leen Torá y realizan Tefilá cada día desde edad muy temprana.

Además, el acercamiento a la lengua se produce con la mirada puesta en la comunicación efectiva, y afectiva, en hebreo. Entendemos que el hebreo debe ser una herramienta, una llave que abra posibilidades reales de comunicación.

También pretendemos que cada egresado, cada egresada de nuestra Secundaria tenga la posibilidad futura de estudiar tanto en una ieshivá como en una Universidad en Israel, con el menor costo de adaptación posible.

  • ¿Cómo se logra este objetivo?

Siempre, el secreto está en la capacitación, el compromiso y el entusiasmo del equipo.

Nuestras docentes abordan sus clases de modo inmersivo, desde las primeras salas del jardín. Los chicos reciben estímulos auditivos, en hebreo, seleccionados por las morot con criterios que han sido probados en el mundo de la enseñanza de la segunda lengua, incluyendo también materiales ya tradicionales.

Lo mismo sucede en la Primaria y en la Secundaria. Para esto, las morot reciben en los últimos años capacitación permanente, tanto dentro de la Escuela como en marcos virtuales de diferentes países, entre ellos, obviamente, Israel. Allí abordan la teoría que sustenta nuestra acción diaria en el aula.

En el día a día nuestras docentes se sorprenden, festejan, celebran y comparten cada nuevo logro de los estudiantes, y esto a su vez motoriza y agrega más interés en la continuidad de los métodos que utilizamos.

  • ¿Qué les genera ver los logros de los alumnos?

Para todos nosotros es muy emocionante observar los avances de los chicos en las diversas habilidades del idioma. Ver cómo, cada uno a su ritmo, va incorporando con alegría diferentes estructuras idiomáticas, casi sin sentirlo.

Implementamos propuestas diversas para los diferentes niveles de aprendizaje, para incluir a todos de acuerdo con sus posibilidades de aprendizaje.

La idea es que los chicos adquieran el idioma del modo más similar posible a la manera en que adquirimos nuestra lengua materna, es decir, a partir de la exposición a un entorno natural de aprendizaje, las morot conversan con sus estudiantes en hebreo, les ofrecen estímulos auditivos de la vida real en Israel, crean para ellos todo tipo de oportunidades de expresión en hebreo a través de juegos, dramatizaciones, producción de videos en hebreo. Y cada experiencia es registrada para nutrirnos, también, de nuestras producciones, que suelen ser inspiradoras para el resto del equipo. De esta manera, juntos, construimos un nuevo paradigma en la enseñanza del hebreo.

Estamos ansiosos a la espera de la posibilidad de que nuestros alumnos “estrenen” sus habilidades en sus próximos, y, esperamos, cercanos, viajes a Israel.
