La importancia de la enseñanza del inglés en Yeshurun Torá

A partir del mundo globalizado e hiperconectado en el que vivimos, Yeshurun Torá sostiene la importancia y lo fundamental que es aprender inglés para distintos ámbitos de la vida.

Ya sea que se quiera continuar los estudios en una universidad extranjera o se tengan intenciones de trabajar en una gran empresa, hablar el idioma en que se maneja el mundo es central.

Pero también para cosas más simples el inglés es importantísimo. Para emprender un viaje, por ejemplo, poder comunicarse en inglés hará mucho más rica cualquier experiencia. Incluso para ver una película en su idioma original se aprenden muchas cosas.

Sabiendo la importancia de esta lengua, Yeshurun Torá desarrolla propuestas pedagógicas trilingües, donde tanto el inglés como el hebreo tienen un lugar protagónico.

«Enseñamos inglés para la vida: los estudiantes aprenden a leer y escribir, pero también ganan habilidades para mantener conversaciones en esta lengua en distintas situaciones específicas. Para eso, abordamos las estructuras del lenguaje y vocabulario que resultan esenciales para hacerse entender», afirman desde el Departamento de Inglés de la institución.

En Yeshurún Torá los niños tienen una exposición progresiva a la lengua extranjera.

En el jardín de infantes se privilegia la exposición a la lengua extranjera y así familiarizar a los niños con una nueva fonología y áreas de vocabulario relacionadas con el contexto infantil.

Ya en la escuela primaria se cuenta con un espacio diario de trabajo en la lengua extranjera. Este nivel de exposición permite desarrollar proyectos interdisciplinarios con otras áreas de la escuela.

A su vez, en la secundaria la propuesta comprende de 6 hs. semanales. Los alumnos trabajan, de acuerdo a sus niveles, de manera dinámica en la construcción continua del idioma. El colegio secundario también ofrece propuestas extracurriculares de preparación intensiva para exámenes internacionales y conversación para todo alumno que esté interesado. Coordinados con los departamentos de las orientaciones que ofrece el colegio (Economía y Administración y Arte), se proponen ejercicios donde los estudiantes se enfrentan a desafíos de su futura vida profesional.

«Buscamos desarrollar las capacidades para expresarse en todo ámbito de la vida y pensamos que la identidad y las emociones no son una excepción», agregan.

En el secundario, además, sostienen el proyecto “We Remember”, que combina la investigación de la historia y la identidad propia con herramientas del lenguaje.

Con el «proyecto Ecoparque» forjan vínculos con el Ecoparque de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires trabajando con el Departamento de Ciencias Naturales y Arte en la producción de guías audiovisuales, además de la escritura de cuentos y mitos digitalizados (todo en inglés).

La primaria tiene propuestas que se abordan desde las áreas de Ciencias Sociales y desde el área expresiva pero en inglés. Por ejemplo, en los grados superiores trabajan temáticas relacionadas con el sistema planetario, realizan concursos de escritura y también trabajan junto al área judaica y oficial en temáticas relacionadas con la Shoá. El proyecto «Never Forget», por ejemplo, fue pensado para alumnos de 7° grado. También, con gran éxito, el año pasado se iniciaron los concursos de Debate en inglés.

«Pensamos que la mejor manera de afianzar estos conocimientos es estudiando para los exámenes internacionales de la Cambridge University. Para eso, incentivamos a los estudiantes a participar de los talleres optativos para todos los niveles y exámenes, sumado a las clases regulares», expresaron desde el Área.

Hace años que los alumnos rinden – con muy buena performance – exámenes externos auditados, administrados y evaluados por Cambridge University. Tanto en el nivel primario como en el secundario.

Para finalizar, manifestaron: «En Yeshurun estamos comprometidos con la enseñanza de herramientas potentes y útiles para la vida cotidiana de nuestros estudiantes. Desde el Depto. de Inglés trabajamos arduamente en la construcción de un clima de trabajo ameno que favorezca el aprendizaje. Un ambiente enriquecido por las diversidades que se nutre del trabajo colaborativo, la variedad de recursos tecnológicos y la continua formación de nuestro equipo docente».
