El directo del Centro Simón Wiesenthal para América Latina, Ariel Gelblung, participó del diálogo “Hermandad para todos, odio para nadie”. Allí compartió ideas con Imán Marwan Gill, teólogo islámico y presidente de la Comunidad Musulmana Ahmadia de Argentina.
Este encuentro lo organizó Roberto Malkassian, coordinador de la Cátedra Libre sobre Holocausto, Genocidios y Lucha contra la Discriminación de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA).
“El discurso de odio no es libertad de expresión. Y no existe genocidio en la historia que no haya comenzado con discurso de odio. Cuando el discurso de odio y la discriminación son aceptados como normales, se acepta la violencia”, expresó Gelblung.
“Tengamos fe o no en que existe cierto tipo de representación de la divinidad, lo que sí tenemos es una identidad que nos formó hace generaciones y que no podemos ignorar”, dijo Malkassian. “Muchas veces en la historia, pertenecer a estas comunidades trajo grandes desastres, odio, y del odio empezamos a ver al otro como alguien diferente y discriminar. Detrás de cada genocidio hay una discriminación que lleva a hechos aberrantes. Si no reconocemos al otro como un igual, un hermano, no vamos a poder convivir en paz”.
Además, Gelblung agregó: “En los últimos 200, 300 años de la humanidad, empieza a existir la idea de pensamiento libre. Implica que verdaderamente nos enriquecemos de la persona que tenemos al lado, independientemente de sus creencias”.

Y coincide Gill: “Hay que destacar los puntos en común, buscar las similitudes y dejar las diferencias de lado. Hay que focalizarse en el valor y el respeto para la dignidad del ser humano. El corán anuncia que quien mata a una vida humana es como si hubiera matado a toda la humanidad. También que quien salva una vida, es como si hubiera salvado a toda la humanidad”.
Gelblung contó que el Imán pertenece a una comunidad que es segregada por otros hermanos islámicos.
La Comunidad Musulmana Ahmadía que preside Gill es una organización islámica pionera en rechazar categóricamente el terrorismo. Su lema es: “Amor para todos. Odio para nadie”. Se fundó en la India en 1889 y promovió continuamente la paz y las sociedades inclusivas, y defiende la separación del estado y la religión.
“Cuando nosotros levantamos la voz contra la islamofobia, también tenemos la misma responsabilidad de levantar la voz contra el antisemitismo y otras religiones. Rechazamos la violencia, el odio y la persecución. Nosotros mismos somos víctimas de persecución. Si permitimos hoy difundir el odio contra un sector, el día de mañana va a pasar con nosotros”, comentó el Imán.
“Cuando escuchamos de terroristas que atacan iglesias o templos, no lo hacen inspirados por el islam, sino por ignorar las enseñanzas del islam. Hay personas que cultivan el odio (como Al-Qaeda), y cualquier persona que se opone contra su ideología es un enemigo”, agregó.

Al finalizar la charla, ambos oradores y el coordinador coincidieron en que lo importante no es ponerse de acuerdo con todas las doctrinas religiosas (más allá de que en el fondo hay muchas semejanzas), sino abrazar las similitudes y decidir cómo actuar ante las diferencias.
“Hay que pasar a la acción y no quedarnos solo con la palabra. Y hacia allí es donde va parte de nuestro trabajo, con la ley en la mano”, dice Gelblung. “Hay que generar consensos para generar alianzas”.
