La estrella egipcia de squash, Ali Farag, afirmó que los palestinos han estado pasando por la situación de los ucranianos durante «los últimos 74 años”. 

Su comentario hace referencia al año 1948, hace 74 años, cuando se creó el Estado de Israel.

Farag expresó que la razón por la cual la opresión en Palestina se mantuvo en la oscuridad durante décadas es que no encaja en la narrativa de los medios occidentales. «Pero dado que de repente se permite a la gente hablar sobre la opresión en Ucrania, entonces es una oportunidad para resaltar también el sufrimiento en Palestina como resultado de la ocupación israelí», aseveró.

“Todos vemos lo que está pasando en el mundo en este momento con Ucrania, y nadie está contento. Nadie debería aceptar ningún asesinato en el mundo ni ninguna opresión”, dijo el nacido en Egipto.

“Nunca se nos permitió hablar de política y deportes, pero de repente ahora está permitido. Para que se nos permita, espero que la gente también mire la opresión en todas partes del mundo. Me refiero a que los palestinos han estado pasando por eso (la actual situación de los ucranianos) durante los últimos 74 años”, manifestó la estrella egipcia del squash.

“Pero supongo que porque no se ajusta a la narrativa de los medios de Occidente de que no podíamos hablar de eso. Pero ahora podemos hablar de Ucrania y podemos hablar de los palestinos”, opinó.
