El jefe del partido islamista Ra’am, Mansour Abbas, hizo historia este miércoles en Israel al firmar un acuerdo de coalición de gobierno como líder de un partido árabe israelí.

“Esta es la primera vez que un partido árabe es parte del proceso de formación de un gobierno. Por supuesto, esperamos que funcione y que se levante un gobierno después de 4 rondas de elecciones ”, dijo Abbas, de acuerdo con Enlace Judío.

Incluso antes de que Ra’am anunciara su firma, la coalición naciente ha sido considerada en general como la más amplia en la historia del país. Unió partidos de izquierda a derecha con un claro objetivo. Buscaron dar fin a los gobiernos de 12 años consecutivos de Benjamín Netanyahu y su partido Likud.

“Hemos alcanzado una masa crítica de acuerdos en varios campos que sirven a los intereses de la sociedad árabe. A su vez, brindan soluciones para los problemas candentes en la sociedad árabe. Tales como la planificación, la crisis de la vivienda y, por supuesto, la lucha contra la violencia y el crimen organizado”, dijo Abbas.

Abbas prometió que muchos de los beneficios fluirán hacia la región del Néguev en el sur de Israel. La base de Ra’am se encuentra entre las comunidades beduinas tradicionales del desierto del Néguev.

Ra’am dijo que el llamado bloque de cambio acordó más de 16.3 mil millones de dólares en presupuestos y planes de desarrollo del gobierno para la sociedad árabe.

Según una declaración del partido islamista, Bennett y Lapid prometieron cerca de 30 mil millones de shekels durante 5 años en fondos de desarrollo económico no especificados, así como otros 770,000 dólares para luchar contra la violencia y el crimen organizado en la sociedad árabe.

Se invertirán otros 6 millones de dólares durante los próximos 10 años para reparar la infraestructura en ruinas en las ciudades y pueblos árabes, dijo Ra’am.

Tres aldeas beduinas no reconocidas, Abda, Khashm al-Zena y Rakhma, se legalizarán en una decisión del gobierno, según Ra’am.

El partido dijo que también ganó el acuerdo de la coalición para discutir la modificación de la controvertida “Ley Kaminitz” de 2017, que tiene como objetivo la construcción árabe ilegal y es ampliamente vista por los árabes como discriminatoria. Mientras tanto, una decisión ya vigente para congelar partes de la ley se extenderá hasta 2024.

Abbas dijo que Ra’am había firmado el acuerdo en último lugar, esperando hasta que otras partes, incluida Yamina de Naftali Bennett, también lo hubieran firmado.

Durante décadas, los partidos árabes israelíes casi siempre se han mantenido al margen del proceso de toma de decisiones en la política israelí.

Eso incluyó estar dispuesto a unirse al líder de derecha de Yamina, Bennett, quien se opone a la creación de un Estado palestino y ha sido identificado durante mucho tiempo con el movimiento de asentamientos.

En la década de 1990, cuando el gobierno del líder del partido Avodá de izquierda Yitzhak Rabin estaba en peligro de colapsar, los partidos árabes intervinieron para evitar un voto de censura.

Pero los partidos árabes han comenzado a presionar en los últimos años para apoyar a un gobierno de centro izquierda con el fin de derrocar a Netanyahu.

Recientemente, en marzo de 2020, la Lista Conjunta esperaba usar a sus 15 legisladores para llevar al poder al jefe de Kajol Lavan, Benny Gantz.

En cambio, Gantz le dio la espalda a la Lista Conjunta y entró en un débil acuerdo de coalición con Netanyahu. Una decisión que luego lamentaría públicamente.

La adopción de Ra’am por parte del gobierno naciente sigue siendo enormemente controvertida entre partes de la derecha israelí. Incluso entre los propios electores de Bennett.

Ra’am, ala política de la rama sur del Movimiento Islámico en Israel, se guía por una ideología islámica profundamente conservadora. Tiene una perspectiva virulentamente homofóbica.

Sus legisladores también tienen puntos de vista propalestinos. La carta del partido apoya el derecho al retorno de los refugiados palestinos. A su vez, considera al sionismo como “pensamiento racista de ocupación”.

En un sorprendente giro de los acontecimientos, las elecciones de marzo de 2021 entregaron a Ra’am 4 escaños en la Knéset. De esta manera, lo convirtió en el partido árabe individual más grande del país.

Los tres partidos de la Lista Conjunta obtuvieron un total de 6 escaños en la Knéset, divididos entre ellos.
